Features
- When the voltage added to it is lower than the threshold "UN", the current flowing is extremely small, which is equivalent to a closed valve. When the voltage exceeds UN, the resistance value becomes smaller. In this way, the flowing current increases sharply, and the impact on other circuits does not change much, reducing the impact of overvoltage on subsequent sensitive circuits.
Application
- The key component of the electric energy meter, the varistor, plays an important role in absorbing operating overvoltage and induced lightning current.
